2009 Postdoctoral Fellowship Application PDF Print E-mail
NYSCF invites applications from postdoctoral fellows from institutions within New York State to cultivate research that will explore the basic biology and therapeutic potential of stem cells derived from humans and model organisms.  The main goal of this initiative is to foster research that will advance the understanding and eventual use of stem cells for the treatment of human disease. NYSCF encourages applications focused on basic, pre-clinical, and translational studies in stem cell research and preference will be given to those applicants studying human embryonic stem cells.

Three to four fellowships will be awarded each year, determined by the quality of applications as judged by a panel of expert reviewers. The fellowship provides a stipend of $50,000 and a travel allowance of $2,000. Supplies for up to $25,000 will be provided to fellows studying human embryonic stem cells. The fellowship does not provide institutional overhead. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to speak at the annual NYSCF conference, will be encouraged to present their results at national and international meetings, and will have access to the NYSCF laboratory and resources.
