The New York Stem Cell Foundation supports translational stem cell
research through grants to scientists working on stem cell research in
the NYSCF laboratory or their own laboratories. The Medical Advisory
Board advises on criteria for grants that are formatted along NIH
guidelines and are consistent with NYSCF's mission.

Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships
Three-year
NYSCF Research Fellowships are offered to post-docs to pursue work in
the area of hESC, SCNT, and iPS research. NYSCF’s post-doctoral Fellowship
Program encourages the brightest junior scientists to pursue stem cell research, countering the chilling effect that
Federal funding restrictions have had on the field. The fellows represent an elite group of postdoctoral investigators who are doing innovative and groundbreaking research in the field of regenerative medicine.
The program was created to ensure that a generation of researchers has the knowledge and expertise to lead this research as the field grows. In addition to an
annual stipend, each Fellow has access to NYSCF’s laboratory, and
participates in our annual conference.
The Fellowship Program has been generously supported by Stanley and Fiona Druckenmiller. Additional support has been provided by an anonymous donor and by The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation.

Grants to Senior Scientists
NYSCF supports senior scientists doing translational stem cell research
and encourages the use of its laboratory by all grantees. These
researchers collaborate on cutting-edge human embryonic stem cell
work. Current projects include:
- Creation of disease-specific stem cell lines for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.
- Differentiation of human embryonic stem cells into dopaminergic neurons lost in Parkinson's disease.
- Examination of new ways to model the neuro-degenerative disease ALS.
- Derivation of human cardiac progenitor cells and transplantation of the cells into large animal models.
NYSCF Travel Fellowships
The
New York Stem Cell Foundation provides travel fellowships for junior
investigators to attend the annual ISSCR meeting, one of the most
important annual gatherings of stem cell scientists. Apply Online
